God placed Bolivia on my heart years ago shortly after I had graduated college. I was flipping through channels one night and came across Life Today with James Robinson. There was a short segment about the life of the orphans living on the streets of Bolivia sniffing glue to stay warm. They then showed a piece of land that would one day have an orphanage on it to rescue these boys desperate love, and shelter. I called right away wanting to know how I could go there to serve. The woman that I was speaking to did not know who I could talk to and so, I forgot all about it. Time went by and in the spring of 2003 the young adults at my church were planning a mission trip to Bolivia. I wanted to go to another location, but God lead me with a small team to go to the Life Center. It was not until I arrived to the site of the Life Center and we were taking a tour of the incomplete ray of hope that I realized that this was the very place I had seen on TV a few years ago. What a faithful God we have. He remembered the desire of my heart even when I had forgotten. The next summer after the boys had been there less then a year, God sent me back for 6 weeks. What an amazing time of building relationships with the boys! On a personal note, on the 2003 trip I became closer friends my now husband Billy. We fell in love the next summer that we were in Bolivia. In 2005, we were married. This past summer we returned to Bolivia after two years serving as one on our first mission trip as a married couple. God is doing so much in Bolivia, much more than we can comprehend. Please pray for the ministry and pray about going to serve there. God has used the Life Center to rescue these boys that so desperate need him...just like he rescued me.
