Republic of Colombia Capital: Bogota The Official Language: Spanish President: Alvo Urive Velez Population: 44,085,853
The 26th largest nation in the world, Colombia is a lush land in the northern part of South America. It has, however, been plagued with conflict between government forces and anti-government, insurgent, and paramilitary groups since the 1960's. Violence and conflict dramatically increased in the 1990's but has been steadily declining since 2002. A vast portion of the countryside is still, however, under militant control. Most of these para-military and insurgent groups are funded by the cocaine export they produce.

CIN's Mission in Colombia
IMPACT In Progress - CIN has recently begun establishing contacts and researching the needs of Colombian pastors and missionaries. This Fall CIN plans to come along side pastors in one of the most dangerous places in the world. The Colombian Red Zone. CIN will hold a series of three seminars in three cities surrounding the Red Zone allowing pastors from the entire area an opportunity to attend and receive training and materials to help reach the children in their communities. Currently an estimated 2,000 children are already receiving the benefits of supplies CIN has provided to the local churches. Click here to learn more about IMPACT.
