Emily Wilson Summer 2007 and 2008 Christmas 2008 and 2009
In the summer of 2007 my life was changed forever when I visited the Bolivia Life Center for the first time. I met Alejandro Figueroa, then twelve, and God laid it on my heart that I was supposed to sponsor him. I didn't plan on sponsoring any boys when I arrived at the BLC but God made it very clear that this was something He wanted me to do. Now, almost three years later, Alejandro is fifteen and I feel so blessed to be a part of his life. Since my first visit, I've had the opportunity to visit the BLC three more times. Once more in the summer of 2008 and then Christmases in 2008 and 2009.
My parents and sister, Jessica had the opportunity to visit the BLC this Christmas with me. They have been sponsoring one of Alejandro's two brothers, Simon, since 2007 and I really wanted Simon to be able to meet the rest of his family from U.S. We had such a great Christmas experience together, living out the true meaning of Christmas by giving our time and love to the boys at the BLC. Alejandro, Simon, and their youngest brother Ervin got to spend time as part of a real family with a mom, dad, and sisters which I think meant more to them than any presents we could have ever bought them!
The BLC is so special and God's love, grace, and healing power are so evident in the lives of the boys there. I feel so blessed to be a part of what God is doing there and pray God will continue to allow opportunities for me to show His love to the people of Bolivia for a long time to come.
